ANNOUNCEMENT

Benalla Art Gallery Stage 1 Redevelopment render, designed by Williams Boag architects

We’re excited to share some important updates regarding the future of Benalla Art Gallery as we prepare for a significant redevelopment of our current site.

The Gallery’s existing location will temporarily close to the public on Sunday, 28 September 2025, as works begin on the Benalla Art Gallery’s Stage 1 Redevelopment. But this is far from goodbye, it’s the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Behind the scenes, we’re busy preparing a temporary pop-up gallery, set to open in mid-November at 75 Bridge Street East, Benalla.

This centrally located space will ensure our community and visitors can continue to experience high-quality exhibitions and engaging public programs throughout the redevelopment period. The pop-up will feature a dedicated gallery space, and the Benalla Art Gallery Shop will also continue to operate, offering its full program of exhibitions by artists from northeast Victoria and maintaining our valued partnership with Arts Project Australia.
