Coinciding with the exciting summer exhibitions at the NGV, Melbourne, NGV Kids on Tour 2021 offers children and families the opportunity to engage with art and creativity through a range of free activities and workshops.
Children of all ages are invited to unleash their creativity in a morning of fun filled hands-on activities at the Benalla Art Gallery.
NGV Kids on Tour is generously supported by The Truby and Florence Williams Charitable Trust, managed by Equity Trustees, and the Packer Family and Crown Resorts Foundations as part of the Your NGV Arts Access Program for Students, Children and Families.
ACTIVITIES
FAMILY DRAWING WITH ALICE OEHR
All ages
Melbourne artist and designer Alice Oehr shares her colourful pop art style and passion for drawing cakes, portraits and neighbourhood creatures in this series of three drawing activities.
SILLY SKETCHES WITH KENNY PITTOCK
All ages
Melbourne artist Kenny Pittock uses a playful approach and wordplay to explore everyday objects in his artworks including ceramics, sculptures and paintings. Families can draw funny ice-cream flavours, animals and cookbook covers using Kenny’s drawing tips.
MOKO MOKO PARK PUPPET SHOW WITH MISAKI KAWAI
All ages
As a child, Japanese artist Misaki Kawai loved to make puppets and perform shows with her brother. Inspired by her NGV exhibition, Moja Moja Life: Misaki Kawai for Kids, children can create a dog park, complete their own puppet and perform puppet shows for friends and family.
NGV TEENS: LUCY ROLEFF
Teens, aged 13 – 18 years
Teens can learn techniques for arranging perfect still-life compositions and produce a drawing or photograph with tips from Melbourne-based painter Lucy Roleff.
