Presented by the Benalla Migrants Association Inc, Batik and Tie-Dye Artist Akhila Fernando will host a two-hour workshop at the Benalla Art Gallery, teaching Tie-Dye techniques and skills to make different patterns and designs into a colourful Tie-Dye artwork.
Akhila will introduce participants to dyes, materials, and methods for making an artwork.
Lunch, materials and instructions will be provided and one piece of artwork will be designed by each child during the workshop.
Akhila is an Australian-Sri Lankan artist, based in Wangaratta. The Batik art heritage was passed down from his father who is a master Batik artist in Sri Lanka. Akhila’s own art brand ARTMORE provides various creative practices within Regional Victoria.

1PM—2PM: Secondary School Age
Lunch will be provided at 12PM for both groups.
