Benalla Art Gallery, Benalla Health and Benalla Rural City Council are pleased to present NAIDOC Week Benalla, held to coincide with national NAIDOC Week celebrations. The exhibition opens on Friday 3 July and runs through NAIDOC Week and beyond to Sunday 30 August at the Pop-Up Benalla Art Gallery.

This exhibition will include a broad array of works and mediums, showcasing First Nations artists from across the region of all ages, skills and interests. It will give them a space to share their talents, ideas and cultural heritage.

Entries are now open for First Nations people in the Benalla area to contribute to this sharing of culture.

Entries:

  • Required information: name, language group, title, year made, what it is made from
  • Optional information: the story behind the artwork, how to display it, sale price (through the Gallery or direct with visitor)
  • Delivery: All works will need to be delivered to the Pop-Up Benalla Art Gallery at 75 Bridge Street, Benalla, by Sunday 28 June 2026.

This free event at Pop-Up Benalla Art Gallery is open to everyone and will feature a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony. Bookings are appreciated.

NAIDOC Week is a time where all Australians are encouraged to celebrate and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, history and achievements, participating and contributing to the oldest continuous living cultures on earth. Through this exhibition, we honour the theme of NAIDOC 2026: 50 Years Deadly.
