Image: Where we live, linocut print, 60 x 80 cm by Anita Laurence
Saturday 23 May, 10.30AM—4PM
During this workshop, participants will begin by exploring the distinctive features of Benalla’s streets, buildings, and landscapes, considering what makes these places meaningful or unique to them. You’ll have the chance to reflect on your favourite spots—whether it’s your own home, a local landmark, or a hidden gem in the community—and gather inspiration through photographs or sketches. With guidance, you’ll learn basic lino cutting techniques and how to transfer your chosen image onto a lino block. Step by step, you’ll carve out your design, developing your own linocut print that captures your special connection to where you live. By the end of the session, you’ll have created an original artwork ready to take home, along with new skills and a fresh way of looking at the places that matter most to you. All materials will be provided, please BYO lunch and photos/drawings of places for reference.
