Coinciding with Daniel O’Toole’s sound installation, Voices from the void, Giacomo Boschi hosts a discussion exploring ‘What it means to listen’.

Giacomo Boschi is a video maker and anthropologist born in Tuscany, Italy. He has travelled the world extensively, and was residing in Benalla in 2022. Beyond his travels, Boschi holds a Degree in Arts, Music and Entertainment and a Masters in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology from the University of Bologna.

As a committed artist, Boschi has been working on three cultural projects, Progetto Risorse; Saperi Pubblici; and Fiuminarso, each a form of ‘artivism’.

Lately, Boschi’s attention has turned to producing his first full-length documentary. Of the documentary, Boschi explains:

“”Music teaches us the most important thing, to Listen” (Bosso, 2018) however, what does listening mean? From this question, in Summer 2021 I started a documentary in Bologna, currently I’m developing it here in Australia.”

In this short presentation, Boschi will introduce himself and his practice, present a teaser of the documentary in development, facilitate a collective discussion about the project, and then invite attendees to contribute to the project by providing their personal reflections on ‘what it means to listen.’
