Edie Black presents a range of small, wearable artworks using her gold fusion method. These pieces are inspired by the Australian land, sea, and skyscapes, handwrought and hand etched using ancient methods.

Included are pendants, cuffs, and earrings made from 18 carat, 22 carat and 24 carat gold fused with steel or iron using the ‘impossible’ method.

Edie Black is a multidisciplinary artist with over 20 years’ experience. Her mediums span photorealist painting, textiles, and public installations. Her jewellery practice draws from ancient blacksmithing and armoury techniques and is concerned with the Australian landscape, and the ways in which we attach value. Edie explains she is “the only artist in the world fusing 24 carat gold with steel and iron—a technique I was told was impossible. Each piece is unique and cannot be replicated.”
