Presented by Live Art Benalla in partnership with Benalla Art Gallery, FRESH JUICE is a monthly program of improvisation sessions for musicians, performance and visual artists wishing to investigate a performance practice. Explore and experiment with improvisation and performance, while drawing inspiration from other artists and the Gallery environment. Share techniques and skills and expand your artistic practice.
Artists of all levels are welcome to join the jam sessions. Sessions will be co-designed and devised between the sharing artists in a safe space.
FRESH JUICE kicked off in April 2024. Sessions have continued since, offering participants the opportunity to co-design a space that allows for both physical explorations and reflection within the sessions. Participants push their practices, introducing other mediums and props. Artists can take risks in a safe, supported space. It’s a great way to explore performance-making and new ideas through collaboration. We encourage artists of all mediums to attend, it’s an chance to see how their practice might evolve through performance or collaboration with other artistic disciplines.
FRESH JUICE sessions are held on the last Wednesday evening of each month.
