Presented by Live Art Benalla in partnership with Benalla Art Gallery, FRESH JUICE is a monthly program of improvisation sessions for musicians, performance and visual artists wishing to investigate a performance practice. Explore and experiment with improvisation and performance, while drawing inspiration from other artists and the Gallery environment. Share techniques and skills and expand your artistic practice.
Artists of all levels are welcome to join the sessions. Sessions will be co-designed and devised between the sharing artists to most adequately meet their interests and to explore new approaches to artwork development.
FRESH JUICE kicked off in April 2024. Sessions have continued since, offering participants the opportunity to co-design a space that allows for both physical explorations and reflection within the sessions. Participants push their practices, introducing the use of other mediums and props. The sessions present opportunities to take risks in a safe, supported space and are a great way to explore performance-making and new ideas through collaboration. We encourage artists of all mediums to attend, offering a space to investigate how their practice might evolve through performance or collaboration with other artistic disciplines.
FRESH JUICE sessions are held on the last Wednesday evening of each month.
