Inspired by the Desmonde Downing: Threads of Kelly exhibition currently on display in the Visitor Information Centre, Little Artists will explore collage, colour and design to create characters and costumes. This is a fun and playful way to introduce little artists to artistic mediums.
Materials: fabric, scissors, glue, pens, posca pens, textas, paper.
Definitions and Learnings: This activity encourages the development of fine motor skills through drawing, pasting and cutting. Children will also learn about different art materials, colours, textures and shapes. They will learn about ‘character’ creation and use their imagination to create a story for their character.
Ages: For pre-school aged children and their parents/carers
Cost: FREE
Registration essential: Please book online below, call 03 5760 2619 or email gallery@benalla.vic.gov.au

Benalla Art Gallery’s Little Artists program is developed specifically for pre-school children. We use games, story-telling and creative activities to encourage young children, and their parents and carers, to have fun while learning about art.
Sessions are free and are scheduled for the first week of each month from February to December.
