Let’s explore texture and colour to create wool pictures on boards. Lengths of wool are cut and creatively placed on self-adhesive foamcore boards to ‘paint’ a colourful pattern or design. Little Artists can use their imagination and creativity to make unique designs, patterns and pictures.

Materials: Wool and self-adhesive foamcore boards supplied

Mat Time: This textile focused activity is inspired the beautiful New Exuberance exhibition currently on display in the Bennett Gallery, which features colourful patterns and intricate textiles, used in both fashion and furniture. Little Artists will be introduced to the colourful works in the exhibition and learn about the artists, before being guided through the art activity.

Benalla Art Gallery’s Little Artists program is developed specifically for pre-school children. We use games, story-telling and creative activities to encourage young children, and their parents and carers, to have fun while learning about art.

Sessions are free and are scheduled for the first week of each month from February to December.
