Friday 1 November, 10—10.45AM
In this Little Artists session, participants will be introduced to the art of printmaking. We will gain inspiration from the artworks in the Gallery to imagine our own nature or landscape inspired print.
Using foam sheets and a pencil, Little Artist can freely explore their imagination and drawing skills to create a base plate for their print. We will learn how to ‘ink’ our print plate before placing it on our page to do our first print.
We can create a print ready for framing or our very own wrapping paper.
Materials: Foam sheets, pencil / end of a paint brush, paper, ink / paint
Definitions and Learnings: This activity encourages the development of fine motor skills through drawing and place making. Children will learn about patterns, shape, line, and design and use their imagination to create their own image or drawing to print.
Ages: For pre-school aged children and their parents/carers
Cost: FREE
Registration essential: Please call 03 5760 2619 or email gallery@benalla.vic.gov.au
Where: Benalla Art Gallery, Patricia [Pat] Gardner Studio
Benalla Art Gallery’s Little Artists program is developed specifically for pre-school children. We use games, story-telling and creative activities to encourage young children, and their parents and carers, to have fun while learning about art.
Sessions are free and are scheduled for the first week of each month from February to December.
