Molly Herry-Carscallen is a contemporary jewellery designer and metalsmith based in north east Victoria. Working predominantly in sterling silver and other precious and non precious metals, she enjoys seeing where the material takes her – often a piece will morph from the original idea during creation as the metal reacts to different processes.
While she has a history of creating, Molly is fairly new to the world of metalsmithing, having begun studying silversmithing and jewellery design at Melbourne Polytechnic in 2018. She enjoys continuing her learning and experimentation and developing her style.
Molly takes inspiration from the natural world, natural forms and the materials she uses, and enjoys experimenting with form, texture and balance; often creating pieces with an organic, natural form and simplicity. Each piece is uniquely made by hand in Molly’s forever messy studio by the billabong.
