Friday 12 January, 10:30AM—12:30PM

Each summer the National Gallery of Victoria [NGV] works with regional galleries to offer FREE art activities to children and families.

Kids can explore the works of NGV artists then create their own art.

Jean Jullien is a Paris-based artist who expresses his ideas and observations through humour, playfulness and a positive outlook. He creates creatures that have black brushstrokes paired with bold, block colours.

Inspired by the artist’s childhood trips to the beach and a passion for caring for the marine environment, Jean has made a drawing activity for children where they can create their own drawings of sea creature in his bold and playful style. We will start the morning reading Jean’s book Who lives in the sea? where he has drawn some of his favourite sea creatures. From a spiky sea urchin to a big blue whale, the book dives under the waves to discover who lives under the sea. Explore Jean’s under water world HERE
