Saturday 19 October, 10AM-3.30PM
Explore the world of colour with Kate by focusing on how to mix colours and the relationship of one colour with another. You will be able to paint in a realistic style or experiment with abstraction. Kate is an experienced teacher, who will share her knowledge of colour theory, acrylic paints and how to resolve compositions.
Two canvas boards and paints will be provided but you can bring along your own acrylic paints and brushes as well. The workshop is open to beginners through to experienced artists.
About the Artist:
Kate Gorman is an established artist who has lived in the North East since 1982. She works in an expressive, painterly technique, building layers of vibrant colour in an abstract style. Travel is a major influence on her art. Through photographic reference and her personal experiences and memories, she captures the essence of a place – its vibrancy, culture, architecture, food and people. Kate aims to give a hint of the subject matter, leaving something to the imagination of the viewer.
