Winner of the 2021 Archibald Prize and internationally recognised artist Peter Wegner will present a masterclass in drawing portraits. Following his exhibition at the Benalla Art Gallery, The Centenarians, Peter will unpack his previous work and process, and guide participants to develop skills required to capture the sitter for likeness and unique style.
About the Artist:
Peter Wegner (born 1953 in New Zealand) is a Melbourne-based figurative painter, sculptor, and draughtsman. His recent work has focused on portraiture and figurative subjects, the study, and examination of the human. He is recording time and the passing of a moment; an example of this is his series on Centenarians, of which he has drawn over 90 – a celebration of longevity and resilience.
