Join us for a relaxed artist talk and afternoon tea with Joan Mullarvey, to coincide with her Gallery Shop exhibition, Unfolding Landscapes.
Mullarvey will speak to her personal background, artistic journey, inspirations, previous and current work. She will share collagraph plates so audience members can closely view them, building an understanding of the process to create the textural surfaces. Mullarvey will also explore the combination of print techniques; how layering collagraphs with other printmaking methods has enabled her to produce beautiful results.
Joan Mullarvey is an accomplished artist living in north east Victoria and has been the recipient of many awards and commendations, most recently selected as a finalist in the biennial Inkmasters Print Exhibition 2021, Tanks Art Centre, Cairns. Describing herself as an experimental printmaker, her work at times crosses the border between painting and printmaking, creating bold and distinctive images.
