Outdoor Projection Façade
Screening nightly on Benalla Art Gallery’s Outdoor Projection Façade is a short film about a macabre party of in-laws and outlaws who use the ‘Bush Telegraph’ to
share secret knowledge.
Combining Stockdale’s collage, painting, photography and animation as well as original footage from the world’s first feature film, The Story of the Kelly Gang, this is Stockdale’s first film and is made in collaboration with Iranian-Australian animator and illustrator, Shirin Shakhesi.
The screening coincides with the Simpson Gallery exhibition, Jacqui Stockdale: The Outlaws’ Inn, on display until 29 January 2023.
We acknowledge the support of Inland Rail for this project.

The activation of Benalla Art Gallery’s after-dark projection space has been supported by the RACV; the Victorian State Government through the North East Victoria Tourism Board; and the Victorian State Government’s $2.5M Building Works Package
