Friday 6 May, 10-10:45AM

Benalla Art Gallery’s Little Artists program is developed specifically for pre-school children. We use games, storytelling and creative activities to encourage young children, along with their parents and carers, to have fun while learning about art.

Sessions are FREE and are scheduled for the first week of each month from February to December. This month’s session looks at:

Modernist Landscapes

Exploring shapes, colours, lines, and objects, kids will create a stunning Modernist landscape inspired by The Ledger Collection which is currently on display. Children will be encouraged to use their imaginations to create artworks that show the places they know or they can dream something up, mastering a range of mixed materials. This workshop is about storytelling, creativity and remembering favourite places!

Materials:

Paper, glue, crayons, markers, water colours, pre-cut landscape shapes, collage paper, and card of various thicknesses.

Mat Time:

Children will read The Tiny Explorer by Kat Macleod and talk about place, what you see, how you feel, what animals or shapes may be present and what you might do in this place. Looking at the exhibition they will talk about the lines, colours, objects, and shapes which make up the Modernist landscapes
