In this Little Artists session, participants learn how to create a coil pot and other clay creations inspired by nature. Using air dry clay participants will learn basic clay making skills and coiling techniques to build unique miniature pots. We will be inspired by natural materials and their shapes including seeds, leaves and flowers to mimic their shapes and make interesting patterns.
Materials: Air dry clay, clay tools, natural materials (seed pods, sticks, flowers).
Definitions and Learnings:
This activity encourages exploration, messy play and hands on learning. Children can increase their fine motor skills, building and drawing skills as well as their ability to identify and make shapes.

Benalla Art Gallery’s Little Artists program is developed specifically for pre-school children. We use games, story-telling and creative activities to encourage young children, and their parents and carers, to have fun while learning about art.
Sessions are free and are scheduled for the first week of each month from February to December.
