Friday 7 March, 10—10.45AM

In this Little Artists session, participants will explore the intricate and detailed artworks of exhibiting artist Simeon Ayres in his exhibition in the Simpson Gallery.

Simeon creates maps and landscapes using watercolours, pen and ink. His work ‘ is an attempt to make sense of the world… the unseen and magical’. He walks, listens, and observes the country and remembers its colours, sounds and shapes, or its hidden pathways.

Little Artists will view Simeon’s exhibition before taking a walk outside along the lake on our way to the workshop room. We will listen, see and imagine pathways and what this particular place map would look like. In the workshop room we will use watercolours, crayons and salt to create maps of Benalla or ‘home’.
