Formed at the Australian National Academy of Music in 2014, Penny Quartet are rapidly gaining a reputation as a fresh, interpretive voice to chamber music giving high profile recitals, festival showcases and master classes across the country.
Penny Quartet presents two iconic works by two masters of the string quartet. Haydn’s “Emperor” is a joyous example of his compositional prowess, using strong melodic ideas to form one of his most memorable works. Ravel’s enchanting and only string quartet is a pillar of the repertoire, and one of the true masterpieces of string quartet.
