About Sofles:

Internationally acclaimed street artist Sofles has been experimenting with graffiti writing since the turn of the century. Hailing from Brisbane but regularly claiming the streets of Melbourne as his own aerosol playground, Sofles entered the scene an enigmatic wildcard. It wasn’t until 2009 that he unveiled the man behind the can, in the debut team up with long-time collaborator, filmmaker and personal documenter Selina Miles. Crucial to introducing the elusive Sofles to the world, the aptly titled process video Hustlin would soon become the catalyst that set Sofles’ world in motion.

Lauded for his distinct style which is at once instantly recognisable, yet innovative and evolving, Sofles has been described as a special effects wizard, mastering a multitude of styles throughout his 20-odd year career. Audiences regularly show up en masse to witness his larger than life pieces in the flesh with works popping up throughout Australasia, Europe, South America and beyond.

His career defining moment came in the form of viral video and exclusive exhibition accompaniment, Limitless. Shot and cut once again by Selina Miles and featuring fellow graff-fiends Fintan Magee, Treas and Drapl, the video clocked over 12 million views and the solo exhibition shone a new light on Sofles as not only an exceptional street artist but an accomplished studio artist in his own right.

His contributions to various sold-out exhibitions and collaborations with notable artists such as Askew, Nychos, Smug and more have cemented him as an essential and leading member among the wider street art community.
