HAPA ZOME

Monday 20 September, 10.30AM – 12PM

Hapa Zome is a Japanese word meaning ‘leaf dye’ and is given to the process of transferring the natural pigments from leaves and flowers onto paper to create a botanical image.

In this workshop, artist Maggie Hollins will guide children through the Japanese technique of Hapa Zome to pound flowers and leaves into paper. You will make bookmarks and cards that have the natural pigments of leaves and flowers printed onto the pages. You will then be able to add stories or drawings to your finished artwork.
