Discover Cyanotype

Saturday 16 October 12PM – 2PM

Tutor: Maggie Hollins

In this short workshop, local artist Maggie Hollins will guide you through making a cyanotype or sun print.

Using a photographic process combining two safe chemicals painted onto paper or fabric, objects are placed into position and then exposed to sunlight.

Maggie will show you how to prepare the paper for exposure and then guide you through the process of designing, exposing and fixing the print. After collecting interesting fallen leaves and other found flat objects in the Botanical Gardens you will make your own cyanotype prints.

Materials and gloves supplied. Please wear old clothing and closed-in shoes and a hat for our garden walk.
